Maestro Mariano Vales is not only a sought-after conductor across the Americas, but one of the leading experts on music for social change. Appointed the Music Director of the DC Youth Orchestra Program in September 2013, Mr. Vales is also the Director of the Music Program at the Organization of American States and the composer-in-residence for the GALA Hispanic Theater.
He has been a featured presenter on the impact of music education on youth at the United Nations, Harvard University and New York University, among others. Mr. Vales is an active speaker and educator. His objective is to create a fun and inspiring environment for musical learning. He believes strongly that the study of orchestral music strengthens the character of the individual. |
