Dr. Marie Abou Jaoude Zaghloul:
Dr. Marie Abou Jaoude will be joining the Academy again to direct our Children’s Music Camp program of music, movement, percussion and rhythm activities with the Youth Guitar, Piano, Strings and Kids Piano Camp programs. A native of Broummana and graduate of the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, Dr Marie Abou Jaoude has taught at the Conservatory as well as at universities across Lebanon. She is currently on the Musical Education faculty of Lebanese University and has doctorate in Social Sciences from the Lebanese University and a diploma in the Recorder from the Lebanese national conservatory and in music education. Her unique approach to music education draws upon her background in sociology as well as upon her training in the Dalcroze, Orff, Kodaly and others methods. Her goals of a joyful learning process have earned her the appreciation of thousands of former students across the nation. Children’s Music Camp: The Children’s Music Camp classes will be led by Dr. Marie Abou Jaoude (Lebanese University), a national treasure of children’s music education in Lebanon. Dr. Marie will lead learning sessions in rhythm, active listening and ear training through movement and activities drawing on her training in and synthesis of Dalcroze, Kodaly, Orff and other great contemporary schools of music pedagogy, as well as on her own creativity. The interactive and fun sessions designed for children will support personal creative expression, communication between the ear, mind and body and respectful group interaction. These sessions will take place in the morning and form an integral part of the Youth Guitar, Piano, Strings and Kids Piano Camp programs. |
