Welcome to YES Academy 2018, Lebanon’s only international summer performing arts program featuring a 15-member faculty from America’s best universities, Broadway theater programs and symphony orchestras in a program of Orchestra, Chamber Music, Piano, Classical Voice, Broadway Musical Theater, Composition, and Conducting. All programs will feature morning 'Junior' and 'Intermediate' programs for children ages 7-14, and afternoon programs for advanced level young adults studying at the College, University or Conservatory level. Participants will attend from Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Europe.
New this Summer!
Maestro, Carlos Botero, assistant conductor of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, will lead the Festival Orchestra, coach Chamber Ensembles and teach conducting.
Camp Broadway! Dr. Peter Thoresen of Pace University (New York City) will lead this new program devoted to the study and performance of timeless and contemporary Broadway musicals such as Hamilton, Rent, Lion King and The Sound of Music. This program will focus on vocal training, solo and ensemble singing, preparing an audition, and learning basic dance moves and acting with the goal of public performance on the final evening of the program.
Voice Camp is a new voice program for aspiring young singers aged 10 to 14. In this new program, participants will learn both Broadway and Choral repertoire as well as receive training in vocal technique and basic dance steps. Program taught by Dr. Peter Thoresen (Pace University, New York City) Christine Moore Vassallo and Prof. Ira Spaulding
The Advanced Voice program will continue to feature training in Opera, Oratorio, Art Song and Vocal Ensemble with Prof. Ira Spaulding (City College of New York)
Elective Classes - We will continue to offer one morning elective class at 11am for young adults with a choice of Conducting, Broadway or Intro to Composition. The Junior programs will continue to offer mini-concerts by faculty as well as a program of rhythm and ear-training games.
Each day will be full of fun and intense study as we prepare for our Festival Baroque Orchestra concert in Byblos on August 7 and Gala Concerts August 10-11 at NDU’s Issam Fares Concert Hall.

Junior Strings – Morning Sessions (participants will be assigned to the Junior or Intermediate level program based on a short audition on the first day) 9:00 to 12:00 daily except Sunday (ages 7 to 14)
Voice Camp - Morning Sessions 9:30 to 12:00 daily except Sunday (ages 10 to 14)
Children’s Arts Activities – Daily mini-concerts by faculty plus organized activities for all students enrolled in Junior and Intermediate programs

Festival Strings – Morning Elective and Afternoon Sessions - 11:00 to 17:00 (ages 14+)

Composition - Morning Elective and Afternoon Sessions - 11:00 to 17:00 (ages 18+ or by approval of teacher)

All classes and Student Concerts take place at NDU – Notre Dame University, Louaize, Zouk Mosbeh
If you want to participate in YES Academy Lebanon, APPLY NOW - places are limited for each program. International students are welcome.
Audition New students need to schedule a live audition before acceptance into the program. Please select your audition date in the online application form. Those unable to attend the live auditions may submit a sound file (MP3) or URL of a 2-3 minute video posted on YouTube as part of your application. You will be contacted by YES Lebanon Program Managers regarding your Audition date and location.
Students of the Conservatoire Nationale, NDU, and YES Academy program alumni do not need to audition, but are required to fill out an online application form.
The tuition for all YES Academy Lebanon programs is as follows: $200* USD for morning children's program $250* USD for afternoon programs for young adults $300 USD for international students (* special conditions apply for NDU music majors and NDU Continuing Education Music programs)
Dormitory housing is available. The Conservatoire National will provide bus transportation to the NDU campus from Sin el Fil and Achrafiyeh.
